PackCost AI

Packaging cost intelligence · beverage & bottling

What does this empty bottle cost — right now, and why?

PackCost AI reads your ERP, calculates the cost of every package deterministically, and shows the exact path back to source. It never writes anything back.

The problem

One of your largest controllable costs — and one of the hardest to see.

The information exists. It is just spread across the ERP, held in reports only a couple of people can run, and rarely reflects what a package actually costs today.

How it works

Read once. Calculate many times. Trace every figure.

PackCost extracts the data it needs into one business model, then answers from that copy — which is why routine questions return in seconds, not days.

STEP 01

Reads your ERP

BOM, vendors, prices, purchases, receipts, invoices, freight, scrap and conversion — read-only, into one ERP-neutral model. Your ERP stays the system of record.

STEP 02

Calculates deterministically

The same inputs always produce the same cost. There is no AI in the maths — the AI only interprets the question you asked.

STEP 03

Traces it to source

Every number carries a calculation ID, the inputs, the BOM version, timestamps — and the exact sequence of ERP reads behind it.

Your ERP system of record Canonical model business language + cached history Cost engine deterministic Answer + evidence + path read once (read-only) normalise calculate every figure traces back to the ERP object it came from
PackCost reads the ERP once into an ERP-neutral model and calculates from that copy. Routine questions return in seconds; each stored value still records which ERP object it came from and when it was read.

Why the number can be trusted

Four properties, not a promise.

Deterministic

Reproducible from a calculation ID and the stored inputs. The AI never invents or estimates a number.

Auditable

“Show me the path” renders the exact ERP reads — object, filter, fields, rows. Your team and auditors point at where each figure came from.

Honest about gaps

If a landed-cost or conversion input is missing, the result is marked partial and the gap is listed — never a silent zero.

Read-only

There is no capability in the system to change your ERP master or transaction data. Credentials live in a secret manager; config files hold no secrets.

Ask it in plain language

The questions your teams already ask — answered in seconds.

Your ERP

Works with what you run — and you can start before API access is approved.

One product across every supported ERP — the costing engine, evidence and user experience sit above a single connector interface, so adding an ERP is configuration, not a rebuild.

If a live connection is not ready for the proof of concept, PackCost reads the same data from flat extracts you export (CSV, Parquet or JSON) or a small read-only staging schema. The mapping is identical; you switch to the live connector later with no change to the calculations.

How we start

A proof of concept on your data — deliberately narrow.

Illustrative worked exampleValue
Annual bottle volume120 million
Addressable improvement, one supplier decision₹0.05 / bottle
Gross annual opportunity₹60 lakh
Recurring manual-reporting effort removed₹10–20 lakh / yr
Illustrative Year-1 net saving~₹52 lakh
Illustrative payback~1.6 months

A worked illustration of how the model behaves — not a claim about your business. Your actual numbers are established during the proof of concept.

Next step
